Insights · By Chen ChunJie · Updated 22 October 2026

Peru’s minimum wage (remuneración mínima vital, RMV) rose from S/ 1,130 to S/ 1,230 a month on 1 October 2026, under Supreme Decree 015-2026-TR. The government plans a second step of S/ 70, to S/ 1,300, in the first half of 2027, through a further decree. The rise also changes the family allowance, the minimum EsSalud contribution and the minimum pay for night work.

The minimum wage applies to a full working day of eight hours, or 48 hours a week. Part-time workers are paid in proportion. The second step depends on a Ministry of Labour review of the economy, employment, productivity and inflation, so check for the new decree before you budget for 2027.
